Hello guys,
having a bit of a challenge in some geocoding exercise.
I got a list of US ZIP code and managed to translate them into addresses thanks to the CASS database.
Now I need to translate all this into coordinates for some geospatial analysis.
Trying to use the US US ZIP9 Coder but... it says I have not the database installed on my machine.
Is it free or pay per use? Where can I download it?
I always find very hard to use the geocoding tools - even if I am willing to pay for geocoders it is not straightforward at all to find the underlying DBs or the instructions!
Thanks a lot!
Mario

Hi @MarioAA the US Zip9 Coder does requires the Location Insights data pack which is a separate license. I certainly understand your frustration as these data packs are really a subset of Alteryx Designer. I have provided a few resources on our location insights below that I hope you will find useful.

If you are interested in purchasing the Location Insights data pack, please reach out to your respective account representative. If you don't know your account rep or have questions about obtaining a license, please reach out via the Support Contact Portal here https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Support/bd-p/SupportPage
Hope this helps and feel free to mark as solution if so!

Helly Gyang and thanks a lot for your reply!
I actually found that I do have access to the location insights (with much surprise!) so I can download the DB and use it!
A quick one, beside the US Location insight I also saw a "EU Location Insight" package. Which kind of geocoding node is it going to feed?
Thanks a lot!

@MarioAA the geocoder for EU should work the same as the US. It geocode addresses by querying and downloading data from TomTom’s Geocoder API. The geocoder produces a record-for-record geocode result including lat/long coordinates and a spatial object.
Hope this answers your question! :)
