Data Investigation tools for Categorical relationships

I have been using the Data Investigation tools such as Association Analysis, Pearson and Spearman Correlation etc. to look at relationships between numerical values. Are there similar tools to allow for analysis of relationships between categorical values in a dataset?

You can use the Continency table to calculate a Chi-squared test of independence on your categorical variables. See here for detailed examples
