Creating PDF document with Total

Kallis

Hello Everyone

I want to create a PDF from the data below. This is from an Excel Pivot.

I have built a WF and grouped by Category

Below is the Input.

The output must contain one PDF per category. At the moment, the WF considers Health as one category and creates a PDF for that. It also considers Health Total as another category and creates one more PDF for that.

Likewise, one for Data Digital and one for Data Digital PDF

So on and so forth.

Is there a way to prepare one PDF per category? I mean, Health and Health Total must be in one PDF. Same with the rest.

Hi @Kallis you can create a new column with the category key in. This can be done in the mulit-row formula. You can then group on the ID. This can then be removed at a later stage. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi @martinson

Would you mind sending the code?

@Kallis Here is the code to create an ID column. IIF(contains([Row-1:Category], "Total"), [Row-1:ID]+1, [Row-1:ID])

Put this in the multi-row formula tool and select create a new field and call it ID.

Hi @martinson

Kindly let me know where should I copy the IF statement within the Multi Row Formula tool.

Mine is different from the screenshot above. I am sorry. I am new to Alteryx

Thanks

@Kallis you should paste it within the expression box. The multi-row formula is a difficult tool to get used to, included in the Advanced tool set, so it may take some time to become comfortable with. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!
