Create Output file name from the text in input file name

Hi All,

I need to create Output file name from the text in input file name. For example

Input file name - Sept2024 Input data upload.xlsx

Output file name - 30092004 Output.xlsx

The month in the input file will keep changing subsequently and need to change the same in the output file name based on that. Can you suggest how to do this?

In the Input Data tool you can turn on the option "Output File name as field" to bring the File Name into your data stream.

Thanks for this. I am using dynamic data from a folder. It doesn't have this option.

It will be in your template in the Dynamic Input.

You can then use a formula tool to take that field and use it to construct your output filename.

Then in the Output Tool, use the option at the bottom of the configuration to "Change File path based on field" (not exact text but close)
