Convert Military time to a float number

Hi Everyone,

This may sound like an odd question but can someone tell me how I can convert military time (24 hour time) to a float number?

So for instance 5:15pm which I've converted to 17:15 already, can I convert that 17:15 string to 17.30 float number?

You use this formula to convert to decimal(float) time

[hour]+[minutes]/60
