Conversion Errors in the Select tool

Question

Hi all,

probably a dumb question here, but I was wondering why the select tool gives conversion errors when truncating the contents to a  of that specific column is exactly what I want?

Also, why does it say " Field Conversion Error Limit Reached"

Hi @Greenlama254

Essentially its warning you that the column is being truncated and therefore data is being 'lost' due to this. Even though you're wanting it set to that length it will still warn you.

"Field Conversion Error Limit Reached" is a notification to say the workflow has reached the limit to the number of conversion errors it will report. This is something that can be changed, along with other behavior, in the Workflow - Configuration - Runtime window:
