Connecting to Salesforce

I try to connect to our salesforce through the quick connect but I get an error saying it cannot connect

- Internet connection

- Proxy settings

- Firewall/Network settings

 

All of these things could be causing a break in connection. Verify them all, you should be able to telnet the service and get a response from your machine if you are able to connect. Can also try using curl to reach the URL end point.
