Connecting to Alteryx Server from Alteryx designer

Hi folks,

I am a licensed user of Alteryx Designer. I want to connect to server through my Alteryx Designer but could not do the same due to error.

I want to deploy my workflow to Alteryx Gallery, and thus for the same I tried Save As feature to save in Alteryx Server.

I am getting error as -Could not connect to Server. Try again later.

Please help.

Is your Designer version the same or older than your Server? That's the first thing I always check!

Server version - 2022.1

Designer version - 2024.1

That's why - you need Designer 2022.1 or older to be able to connect to Server 2022.1

Can i have 2 version of Alteryx designer at a time. I am using non-admin installer.

Yes, you can have one Admin and one NonAdmin version of Designer on your computer at the same time. Not two versions of NonAdmin though

Okay, great. Installing the older version of Alteryx.

Though i have developed the workflow in Latest version of Alteryx. If i will open the same workflow in older version of alteryx, would it run the same way? If not, then do i need to develop the workflows also in the older version only?

I have installed the older version of Alteryx. Then also, I am facing the issue. I am not able to connect to the Server to save my workflow. Please suggest the possible solution for the same.

You need to open your workflow in your older version and see if there are any issues - it'll be hard to diagnose from here without knowing your workflow. Once you open it (hopefully successfully), make sure you save it so it's now saved as the older version, and try again.
