Choosing which unique row is used without using prioritization

Hi all,

I've seen other posts about using a priority list to do this but in my case that doesn't work since this has to do with email typos.

In my reports I have email addresses with typos. Is there a way to choose which email address makes it through to U so the wrong email address goes into D?

Thanks!

@jwlam One option to compare the names against the name field and email address

The solution by @binuacs is a good start. But I must caution that unless your organization's email structure follows the name exactly, that method may have some false positives. For example, John Doe's email may actually be jdoe@email.com rather than John.Doe@email.com

If you are working with emails that are pre-existing in your capacity to get internally, then I would suggest to compare against a master list with a Join tool to get the proper email out.

This solution to validate can also be an extra layer to your workflow on top of @binuacs' solution: https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Designer-Desktop-Discussions/Validate-email-address-with-Fo...

If you are working with emails that are NOT pre-existing, meaning that you have to collect them from somewhere out of your capacity to get internally, then I would also recommend using a Fuzzy Match tool to see and work from there.
