Hi all - very new to Alteryx but it is becoming invaluable already
I have a query, apologies if this has been posed before
1- I have a folder with a number of excel files
2- each of these excel files has a name
3- each file has a single sheet
I would like to
1- combine the files with one sheet , into a single file with many sheets, with each sheet taking the name of the file it was pulled from.
Is this possible?
Thank you so much for any help you can provide
Solved! Go to Solution.
You could use the directory and dynamic input building blocks and ensure carry over the file name and then reuse it in output building block.
Attached a zipped workflow
I added a comments in order to explain what I have done.
below the macro
Hope this helps!

Ok I think I need to simplify this a little. I have a directory and I am isolating a file containing the word allowance
I want save that file as a file called "Allowance", maintaining the data in the file. I dont need to delete old files.

You can add a block until done at the end and chose the file name on the formula tool.
You can find the bloc until done tool in the developer palette.
If this solve the issue please mark it as solved it will help others.
