Change listed date to first of month

I have data summarized by a posting date.

I want to create a new column that will change the posting date to the first day of that period

Posting date     New date

2023-06-28       2023-06-01

2021-12-20       2021-12-01

2023-08-17       2023-08-01

2023-08-25       2023-08-01

Currently the data in my file is a Date data type.
