Cannot read file from specific path, but reads same file from other path

Hey all,

I am trying to read an excel file from a specific folder in my computer simply using the Input Data tool. When I do so, I get a result (table) which is incorrect and essential is another excel file from a completely different folder.

If I simply copy paste my desired file to desktop, and then use the Input Data tool again I get the correct result.

This is a really dangerous bug, and I wonder if anyone else had this issue..?

Any solutions?
