Can you run an existing query in an external database?

I'm wondering if you can run an existing query in an external database as opposed to re-creating the query using the In-Database tools in Alteryx? Or if you can only access tables from the external database and create queries using those tables.

Based on a review of posted questions and information on the In-Database tools, it doesn't appear to be possible, but nothing explicitly says that it isn't possible.

Thanks!

Hi @Arch have you tried copying the query and pasting it into the SQL editor in the Input Data tool when you are connecting your database?
