Can i dynamically input from changing folder names in alteryx designer?

Hi All, 

I have a workflow which runs every business day where i select a folder path directory and input the right file dynamically. 

in the this path ie work\desk\requests\2025 i have a folder for each month ....\January ....\February

My research goal was to automate this input - so that i can put the workflow on server and forget about it for the rest of the year (instead of selecting the right directory every month). 

>>>However, directory tool returns nothing if selected ie as work\desk\requests\2025  (hence i can not create formulas or filter the right folder) 

is there another way to do this?

Daft question but assume you have ticked the Include Subdirectories option?
