Can Custom Filter Use Data Field as Its Filter Criteria?

Question

Is it possible to create custom filter using filter from data Text Input. Attach is a workflow example of what I'm trying to achieve.

The real life scenario is the the filter data is in Excel file where it can easily editable, and the WF executes those filter commands and produce different files based on that.

You can achieve this outcome with an app which contains interface tool for you to dynamically take in user inputs.

If you are new to Alteryx App, the best place to get started is the Interactive lessons - Building Alteryx App.

Many of the interface tools have "one example" workflows, which can be accessed by right-clicking on the tool and clicking on "Open example". One such example is attached.

The use case you described can be achieved via using Drop Down tool which has many possible configurations.
