Hello,
I am a student at Cal State Fullerton and I just downloaded Alteryx for class. I have been enjoying going over the videos and learning about the core functions of Alteryx, and I am excited and curious to learn more about what it can do. I am also interested in earning a certification in the future. What are the requirements and for how long would a certification be valid for?
Thanks,
Magda
Hello @mlucheniuc ,
Welcome to Alteryx.
We all share your excitement as we were and are too to be a part of this wonderful community.
Below is a link that will give you some answers to your questions.
Certification - Alteryx Community
Any question you have please feel free to ask and good luck
Hi Magda ( @mlucheniuc )
Welcome to the Alteryx community. There are three certificated for Alteryx Designer : 1) Core, 2) Advanced and 3) Expert.
The first two are free of charge, the final one has a cost of $150. To take the Advanced exam, you should first pass the Core one, and the same goes for the Expert exam (up should first pass the Advanced).
Each certificate had a duration of 2 years. You can find more information about the skills measured in each topic in the following link:
https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Certification/bd-p/product-certification
Also the interactive lessons have a ribbon on the top right if a lesson is relevant to the Advanced certification or the Core one. I would suggest go through them first thing, they are really really useful.
Hope that helps, feel free to reach out if there are other questions.
Cheers,
Angelos

Funny thing today one of your colleague from Cal State Fullerton asked if this is worth it to invest time and money in those certifications. You can read my short answer why in my opinion it is worth to achieve those certificates if you are interested:

welcome to Alteryx and the Community!!!
another great way to prepare for Certifications is to participate in the weekly challenges. That’s how I built up my knowledge initially, and what I’ve learned there has served me well for work too.
cheers,
Esther
