Analytic app help with making filed optional

I have a pretty basic analytic app(attached) that has 2 user-entered criteria: database name and table name. It's possible the user only has 1 of these values so I want to be able to make them optional so that the query works when the user only has one of the fields.

 

How would I be able to do that?

Rather than using "Update Value" you could use "Update Value with Formula" and use a conditional to specify which action to take depending on whether a value was entered or not.
