Alteryx Designer Predictive Tools on MacBook M1 Parallels

williamchan

Has anyone experienced issues with the Predictive Tools when running Alteryx Designer (Version:  2022.1.1.30961) on the MacBook M1 using Parallels Desktop?

None of the R-based tools seem to work.

Would love to hear from folks who've attempted this.

Cheers,

William

Hi @williamchan,

I have experienced the same issue on my M1 using Parallels. I found this thread: https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Designer-Discussions/Error-R-10-The-R-exe-exit-code-3221225...

The summary is that newer 64-bit versions of R (beginning with R-4.0.3) will not run on Windows 10 for ARM. The author of the above post gives a few ideas for work arounds. I haven't been able to get it to work on Parallels--I used Microsoft Remote Desktop instead.

Thanks @MeganBowers - I've replied back to the thread there with my findings.

Going to try some hacks and workarounds, but will otherwise have to resort to a win-based PC or a VM...

I'm guessing that's what you're running on your MRD? Win11 on an Intel-based VM?

Yes it's Windows on an Intel-based VM
