My language is Spanish, but when asking the question I have translated it into English.
I have upgraded Alteryx Designer from version 2024.1.1.136 to the latest version 2024.2.1.14. The PC configuration is an i7 with 16GB of Ram.
I have a flow project that reads multiple .xlsx notes files from a folder, using the "input data" tool and then performs many operations on the files. This flow works without problems with version 2024.1.1.136.
With the new version I have started building a new project that reads data from an Excel file to clean and process it. When adding a new control in the flow and connecting it with the "input data" tool, it takes about 1 minute or more in a "running" state and then the message "(Not responding)" appears in the title bar.
When reviewing the amount of resources consumed by the processes related to Alteryx, it shows (see Capture 1):
Process; Alteryx designer (memory consumption 1751.3 MB) and
Process: Alteryx (memory consumption 115.5 MB)
Now when opening the project that reads multiple .xlsx files, the resource consumption is as follows (see Screenshot 2):
Process; Alteryx designer (memory consumption 1352.4 MB) and
Process: Alteryx (memory consumption 1719.7 MB)
This strange behavior of Alteryx Designer 2024.2.1.14 makes it impossible to work, since when modifying or adding a control in the flow there is a waiting time that Alteryx takes to process the changes.
As a rule of thumb, I have done the following:
* Check the resources consumed and available to rule out that the behavior is due to lack of resources
* Disable the "Use AMP Engine" option, and run the new flow and the project
* Uninstall version 2024.2.1.14 and reinstall it
* Check that the other programs I have installed on the PC have the same behavior. The applications are behaving normally or habitually.
After each step taken to try to solve the problem, the result is that the strange behavior of Alteryx continues.
So after this experience I have thought about uninstalling version 2024.2.1.14 and returning to 2024.1.1.136, until the support team can find the problem.
Solved! Go to Solution.
@Lisbeth_Negrete thank you for the thorough explanation of this issue. You mention Support, and I was thinking this may be a good candidate to report through Mission Control (my.alteryx.com) to ensure Customer Support is aware and can provide insight into resolution. The case submission process will also search the Knowledge Base in case there is a known solution. Maybe you already did this, if so, thank you!
