Add markers to different excel files

Question

Hi,

I am trying to analyze data from different dates. The date information is stored in the excel file names. If I import the excel files together, the date information is lost. So I have to add a date column to each excel file and then combine them. This can be very tedious if I am working with more than 10 days of data. Is there a way to add a marker to the data when you import them together?

Basically, how do we differentiate data source when you import multiple files together?

Hey @summer0805

On your input tool, there should be an option to "Output File Name as Field" which will attach the filename or full path to each record that gets imported.  You can then use this as is, or parse the date out of it using some of the parsing tools.
