There is no such automation. A user would have to "roll their own" tests by using Trifacta functions. Source Metadata References like $sourcerownumber could also be useful (in situations where they apply -- see the limitations here).
But I will file an enhancement request on your behalf. This is something that others have asked about as well!

An example could be to verify if a merge step in recipe takes the right columns from source.
Maybe we could verify the count in source with the destination count.
