How can I find and copy Recipe steps in Designer Cloud (Trifacta) for the Advanced exam?

Hi everyone,

I am preparing for the Alteryx Designer Cloud, Trifacta Classic Advanced certification exam.

The exam instructions state:

“DO NOT write in transformations by hand – minor syntax differences could cause improper grading. You can copy a step directly from the Transformer recipe by clicking the ellipses (…) next to the step and selecting Copy.”

I am a bit confused:

1. Where exactly can I find the Recipe panel in Designer Cloud?

2. How can I view the list of transformation steps I have already applied?

3. Where is the ellipsis (…) icon located for each step?

4. When I click Copy, will the step automatically appear in the Wrangle syntax format that the exam accepts?

My goal is to copy the Recipe steps directly from Designer Cloud and paste them into the Advanced exam to avoid any grading errors due to syntax mismatches.

I’d really appreciate any guidance or screenshots from those who have already taken this exam.

Thanks in advance!

Trifacta and Designer Cloud are not the same product - there is not a way to replicate the recipe step copying that exists in Trifacta. so you must use Trifacta instead!

My account only shows the new Designer Cloud, not Trifacta Classic. How do I access the Trifacta Classic environment for the Advanced exam?

You'll have to ask your account rep / Support to help - however, it is a completely different product so it'll have its own learning curve separate from Designer Cloud

Summary: unless you are going to use Trifacta, I would avoid this exam - it is here for legacy Trifacta users but doesn't relate to Designer Cloud

Thanks for clarifying. Do you happen to know the official Alteryx Support email address I can contact regarding access to the Trifacta Classic environment?
