Having difficulty connecting S3 to our Trifacta cloud instance.

Questions about setting up S3 connection to our GHX Trifacta instance.

1) Can we simultaneously connect to S3 buckets in different AWS environments/accounts?

2) Since we are using Pro, I don't believe it is possible to configure admin settings workspace by workspace and is instead global, correct?

3) We understand it is best practice to use IAM roles vs access keys and secrets for permissions. If we already have a S3 connection setup with keys, are we able to adjust to use IAM roles without breaking?

Hi @Jonathan User? ,

I hope you had a discussion with @Renu Mallur? on the Limitations for Trifacta Professional Edition.

We have also included documentation for the product editions, including their limitations. Feel free to take a look at it here.

I hope this helps!

Thanks & Regards

Yes, it is possible to simultaneously connect to S3 buckets in different AWS environments/accounts.

To do this, you can use AWS credentials to authenticate with each environment or account separately. You can use one set of AWS credentials to authenticate with one AWS environment or account, and use another set of AWS credentials to authenticate with a different AWS environment or account.

AWS provides several ways to manage multiple AWS accounts, such as using AWS Organizations or AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles. These services allow you to centralize and manage multiple AWS accounts, and provide a mechanism to grant permissions to access S3 buckets in each account.

When using AWS SDKs or command-line tools, you can specify which AWS environment or account to connect to by setting the AWS access key ID, secret access key, and region environment variables. This allows you to connect to different AWS environments/accounts simultaneously.

Overall, with proper configuration and management of AWS credentials, you can easily connect to S3 buckets in different AWS environments/accounts simultaneously.
