Hi All,
I opened the he "Prep guide" PDF under the "Alteryx Designer Cloud Core" exam certification. I was instructed to start with the Getting Started Learning Path located at - https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Learning-Paths/Designer-Cloud-Core-Trifacta-Classic/ta-p/1045768
To gather hands-on skills, the learning page advises - "Make sure you have access to a Designer Cloud environment(opens in a new tab) where you can put what you've learned into practice before you start". So I opened and applied for a free cloud trial at https://www.alteryx.com/designer-trial/free-trial-alteryx (work mail address).
After that, I launched Cloud Portal at https://us1.alteryxcloud.com/?workspace=cognizant-zgk7 and entered my email address from work to sign in.
However, my main concern is that there are different UI and tool setups, making it difficult to identify exact matches between what is taught in learning modules and what is visible on the UI page, while certain ideas are related. There isn't a way to add recipes to a custom workflow that I just created. I am being asked directly to input the data.
Now what should I do? need proper direction. Screenshots are all attached.
Is there any difference between Designer cloud and Alteryx Analytics cloud?
https://cloud.trifacta.com/ vs https://us1.alteryxcloud.com/

Hi @RE5260,
Your confusion is entirely justified. Everything seems to be called Designer Cloud, but Designer Cloud at https://cloud.trifacta.com is indeed a separate product from Designer Cloud in the Alteryx Analytics Cloud Platform (AACP) at https://us1.alteryxcloud.com. The former is the pre-acquisition Trifacta SaaS offering that is based on AWS, while the latter is comprised of two of many applications in AACP: Designer Cloud (Designer Experience), which resembles Alteryx Desktop Designer; and Designer Cloud (Trifacta Classic) which resembles Trifacta AWS SaaS.
Please have a look at the attached screenshot -- is this similar to what you see in your trial UI? Please let me know. If not, then it may be possible to make both experiences available.
I hope this helps!
Hi @RE5260,
Thanks for the update. OK, to the right of the Help button in your screenshot (i.e., looks like a question-mark icon) is your User Menu. If you click that, do you see a menu item called Admin Console? (I am not sure whether this is included for trial workspaces or not!) Please let me know.
If so, then click through to Settings, and you should see a setting that controls which Designer experiences are available -- please see screenshots, attached.
If not, then I will try to find out if there are other options available.
Hi All,
Thanks for this thread, I also faced the same issue, Designer Cloud(Trifacta Classic) tile/app is missing in my free trial account. And your replies enabled me get access to it. thanks
