Welcome! Whether you're diving into Alteryx in the cloud or working your magic on desktop, this guide will help you hit the ground running with your free trial—quickly, easily, and with confidence.
Step 1: Sign up at alteryx.com
- Go to alteryx.com and click Start Free Trial
- Fill out a short form with your business email, name, company, and country
Step 2: Set up your account
After submitting the form:
- Create a password
- Agree to the Alteryx Privacy Policy
- You’ll be redirected to the Alteryx One platform
You'll receive a full user seat and workspace admin role which allows you to invite up to 10 additional users. Huzzah!
Step 3: Choose how you want to use Alteryx
From the Alteryx One landing page, choose where you want to start.
Option 1: Use Alteryx in the cloud
- Click Launch to start using Designer Cloud or other Alteryx Cloud apps in your browser
- No installation is required—just log in and begin
Option 2: Use Alteryx on your desktop
- Click Download to install Designer Desktop on your computer
- Run the installer
- Choose cloud activation during setup
- Log in using the same email and password you used to sign up
You can now begin building workflows directly on your desktop.
Invite users to your trial workspace
If you intend to share the trial with other users, you can invite them from with the workspace. You must assign each user a role. To invite other people to join your workspace:
- Select Workspace Admin from the upper-right Profile menu.
- In the Admin Console, select Users.
- On the Users page, you can see the invited users or users who are members of your workspace. You may invite up to 9 additional users to your workspace. Select Invite.
- Enter a comma-separated list of the email addresses of the users you want to invite to your workspace. Select Full User.
- Select Invite to send an invitation email to these users and assign the roles.
Note: These users need to accept their invitations and log into Alteryx One to access the trial. This user list may be edited from the Users page at any time.
Important notes
- All trials must begin from alteryx.com
- You cannot start a trial directly from the Designer Desktop application
- License keys are not valid for trial use
