What is Alteryx One?

Alteryx One is a unified, AI-guided analytics platform that gives teams the power to build, automate, and scale trusted analytics across the organization, enabling anyone to transform siloed data into AI-ready data and insights. 

When was Alteryx One released to customers?

Alteryx One was announced at Alteryx Inspire in May 2025 and is available to customers globally.

Alteryx One Deployment & Transition

Does Alteryx One require a full cloud migration?  

No. Alteryx One supports hybrid deployments. Workflows can be run locally, on a private data plane, or in the cloud based on customer preference and setup.

Will customers need to migrate all workflows to the cloud?

No. Customers can transition at their own pace. They are not required to move any workflows to a cloud environment.

Are existing configurations of Alteryx compatible with Alteryx One?

Yes. Most existing workflows and infrastructure are compatible with Alteryx One. Alteryx provides tools and guidance to ensure a smooth transition.

What can I do now to prepare for my transition to Alteryx One?

Customers can begin preparing now, including upgrading to version 25.1 and reviewing reference architectures to align to future deployment paths.

How do I know what deployment of Alteryx One is best for me?

Alteryx can provide you with tailored reference architectures aligned to meet your deployment preferences to help determine the right path of deployment for your organization.

My organization has HIPPA or FedRamp requirements.   How do those customers maintain compliance in regulated industries?

Alteryx One can be deployed in highly secure, on-premises/private environments, ensuring HIPAA, FedRamp, and other compliance requirements are met.

Can Alteryx One keep data and compute inside the customer network?

Yes. All data and processing can remain inside the customer’s network with proper configuration. The only cloud interaction is user authentication (via SSO).

Why is Alteryx introducing a new pricing model?

Alteryx is streamlining product offerings with the introduction of Alteryx One, designed to give customers the seamless & modern analytics experiences they have asked for. Our new edition-based pricing is a key component of Alteryx One, designed to make it easier for our customers to buy Alteryx for their organizations, and to access the breadth of analytics capabilities available across the Alteryx platform.

What is the new pricing model for Alteryx?

Alteryx is rolling out an edition-based pricing structure, offering three tiers of a single unified platform, plus additional add-ons for specialized use cases.  The editions are as follows:

• Starter Edition:  Designed to support Ad hoc analytics, for small teams doing basic analytics.
• Professional Edition: Designed to support end-to-end analytics and broader reporting and analytics across teams and organizations.
• Enterprise Edition: Designed to support organizations operationalizing analytics at scale
• Add-Ons: Available for the Professional and Enterprise Editions, add-ons allow you to optimize your analytics with the exact capabilities you need for your use cases.  Example add-ons include the AI Builder add-on & Global Location Insights etc.

What are the user types in Alteryx One?

Alteryx One introduces three types of users. This ensures customers receive maximum value from their Alteryx investment with user license types and prices tailored to their needs.  This also enabled customers to more easily upskill employees and get them started on their analytics journey.

Basic Creators are designed to meet the needs of your people that need essential data prep and analytic tools to be data driven.  This includes new users just getting started on their analytics journey, and casual users that only need a set of data prep and analytics tools for their day-to-day data-driven tasks.

Full Creators are designed for business analysts to automate the end-to-end analytics journey for any analytics use case.  They can automate the entire analytics lifecycle, from data preparation & analytics to insight generation & reporting.  Full creators can infuse automation everywhere in the organization with developer tools and more extensive capabilities.

Viewers are included in the enterprise edition and enable anyone in the organization to view workflows & reports or run analytics apps.

Can I use browser-based, desktop, and on-prem apps under Alteryx One?

Yes. The professional edition gives customers the ability to access both Designer Desktop and Designer Cloud with a single license - to prepare, transform, and analyze data through desktop and browser-based apps.  The enterprise edition extends flexible deployment to workflow automation, allowing customers to schedule, automate, and monitor workflows across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments based on their preference.

How are workflows metered in the Enterprise Edition?

Enterprise customers begin with an allowance of automated workflows or “automated runs” (e.g., 60,000 runs). Additional workflows can be purchased in increments of 1000. Usage metrics are accessible through the customer’s admin console, enabling proactive capacity planning.

What is capacity-based pricing, and where does it apply to the Alteryx platform?

Alteryx One introduces capacity-based pricing for workflow automation runs.  In the enterprise edition, customers can schedule, orchestrate, and monitor analytics workflows across their deployment.  This allows customers to scale their analytics environment in a governed and secured way. 

With capacity-based pricing, customers buy planned capacity of automation runs.  Customers can easily predict, control, and budget for the number of automation runs their business needs.  Customers can also control user access, view job performance, manage and control data access.

Which types of workflow runs are counted towards automation runs?

Automation Run Definitions are captured in the Product Description Schedule (below).  At a high level, the following count as an Automated Run:

• Any automated workflow run on the platform, plans, Server or Cloud Execution
• Any time an application (built in app builder) is run by a viewer
• Any time a viewer runs a server workflow

How does the price of workflow automation with Alteryx Server change?

Historically Alteryx Server was priced based on the number of cores in the deployment with additional fees for HA instances and Sandbox. This led to pricing driving the deployment size rather than the technical needs. With Alteryx One, cores are no longer the pricing meter for Alteryx Server.  Alteryx Server is included in the Enterprise edition of Alteryx One, and priced based on the number of automation runs. This enables customers to optimize the technical deployment of Server to suit their needs, and to spin up and spin down Server capacity to meet seasonal demands for workload.

How does license management improve under the new Alteryx One editions?

With Alteryx One comes the introduction of the unified licensing portal for Alteryx customers.  This eliminates the need for individual license keys, allowing customers to manage deployments across cloud, desktop, and on-prem environments from a single centralized administration portal. Users will now be able to use email/password combinations to activate on-prem capabilities as well.
