This year at Inspire2017 in Las Vegas, we fused Alteryx User Groups, Alteryx for Good, and the online Alteryx Community together to create the Community Hub. Alteryx users were invited to explore the many ways available to get involved with supporting the community whether it be to lead a user group, sign-up to volunteer, or get more involved online with other Alteryx users.  It was an exciting opportunity to, in the process, epitomize what our Alteryx ACEs are doing daily. They get involved with initiatives aligned with their passion and have a ton of fun in the process.

With passion and determination, Alteryx users who are advocates continue to rise by demonstrating their mastery of Alteryx as well as their willingness to share their knowledge with the community. They are committed to constructively helping Alteryx improve our product offering for the community. They are tough critics who advocate for Alteryx.  The ACE program highlights a few of the most influential, supportive experts of Alteryx Analytics and recognizes them for the meaningful impact they are making, not just inside of their organizations — but across the analytics community.

The ACE program is designed to enable the community supporting the community.  You probably have noticed that our ACEs are very prominent across the Alteryx community.  From supporting users on community, blogging about their experiences and projects to leading an Alteryx user group, there are a variety of ways for users to engage.  Those engagements lead to the ACE designation.

You are at the heart of Alteryx, rich with contributions and ways to make a positive impact on people's lives, locally and globally. Share your solving superpowers with the Alteryx community ---online, in your town, or by giving back.

@TatianaS,

One of the 2017 newly minted ACE's, @Treyson (Treyson Marks), had asked me at Inspire 2016 about his chances of becoming an ACE in 2017.  Out of context my response was, "Good luck with that!"  He took that as a challenge and was quick to remind me of that conversation at his induction lunch.  If anyone would like to chat with me about the rewarding experience that an ACE designation offers, it is a reflection of your contributions and it is what you make of it.

If Tatiana's list seems daunting (I had to join Twitter and start blogging?) it becomes remarkably easy to share and give when your efforts are valued.  If there is something that I can do to help you on this journey, feel free to reach out and let's see if I can be of help to you.

Cheers,

Mark

I want to take the challenge, would you please advise... I'm open to feedback...

Briefly I've met with Alteryx back in 2014 while I was working as a consultant for Experian and then

started the Alteryx User's Group Istanbul, Turkey in 2015.

  • We are now 286 "Data Artisans" https://www.meetup.com/Alteryx-User-Group-Istanbul/
  • We had 19 meetups since Aug 2015
  • 47 discussions were posted on the group 36 of them were blog posts with use-cases etc. in local language.
  • Helped 36 people with Alteryx for good licenses from 7 different Universities, mainly master's students

Now I've joined the AFG co-lab, you can reach me from https://www.afgcolab.com/advisors/workflows/altan-atabarut

Best

@Atabarezz, Thank you so much for your support of Alteryx across the greater Alteryx and analytics communities!  The community appreciates the work and support from fellow Alteryx users like yourself. @LaurenU speaks so highly of the Istanbul group with user group meetings and your involvement with AFG. Let's set up some time to chat more about the program and your efforts. I'll reach out to you. Talk soon!

@MarqueeCrew, appreciate your support of many other passionate Alteryx users. @Treyson's story is one for the books, and certainly a piece of ACE lore for me. #whowillbenext

This is certainly in my sights.

I've been working with Alteryx for over two years now and I gained my certification out at Inspire in San Diego, despite my face being bright red from the sun, which is surprising because in the North East of England we get plenty of sun and...no wait, the other thing.

I'm a senior solutions architect for an Alteryx partner, and as such I'm tasked with providing presales and implementation consultancy across a plethora of sectors and business cases.

In addition to this I host regular Alteryx webinars and I'm active on social media.

I'm engaged with different clients every day, giving demos, training, developing, running workshops and advising on how Alteryx can improve their businesses, and very quickly.

I also speak at public events and roadshows, and as a senior Qlik consultant I'm involved in bringing Alteryx into the Qlik sphere, both with the sometimes resistant vendor, and with our Qlik clients.

I'm a regular community contributor and was recently one of the users chosen as an Icon of the Alteryx Community, and I'm apparently on the deck of cards (I should find out at Inspire Europe) which has basically meant my childhood dream has come true.

So, fingers crossed.

For those interested @mceleavey@Atabarezz@NicoleJohnson@danrh@MSalvage@LordNeilLord@Claje in becoming an ACE, my road was bumpy and my journey is still underway.  When I got the call from @LDuane asking if I were interested in becoming an ACE, I was giddy with anticipation.  I couldn't say, "YES!" fast enough.  Libby (of course) explained to me the responsibilities and requirements for maintaining my ACE status as this is not a one-and-done assignment.  Two Inspires previous to this I watched as peers were announced as ACEs.  What was missing from my love of Alteryx?  Why was I not chosen?

In 2015 I set a goal to include those activities listed as prerequisites to becoming an ACE in my daily habits.  While becoming an ACE was what drove me to creating these daily habits, I saw the value of these activities for those that I served as well as for my own growth.  I applaud the efforts that you are making today as well as those who seek your assistance.  Asking for help is a skill itself.  I am challenged by that very task.  If you're active in the community and trying to become an ACE, fingers crossed or not you will be appreciated by those that you impact.

Speaking for all of us, if you ever need encouragement just ask.

Cheers,

Mark

Thanks @MarqueeCrew. It's strange to think of a time when you weren't an ACE.

It's like imagining Batman singing a cappella...
