As of now, if a community member has to access the community, there are 2 ways:

1. Log in to the website from Desktop

2. Log in to the website from Mobile

When we are working on Alteryx workflows, it makes sense that accessing from Desktop is the best.

But when we are away from Desktop and having a conversation on a thread, it get's really bad from a user experience perspective that we have to go to browser, login and then access the community.

I think Alteryx should develop iOS and Android App for the community. It will increase the engagement of community members considerably.

Thanks!

I love the current feature where users can mark something favorite by clicking the "" button at the bottom of a post, blog, article, etc. and the content will show up in the Favorite Posts carousel on their profile. But the Favorite content seem to be limited to content within the Alteryx Community. I'd like to have the ability to add external links (outside the Alteryx Community) to the Favorites board, kind of like the Featured section on LinkedIn where people can put whatever links they want that showcase their skills or links they frequently use and want to share with others. Not sure if anyone else wants this feature or the amount of work needed in the background so just want to post this idea and get feedback. If anyone knows any way to feature content to the profile please let me know! 😀

Problem: I am seeing that sometimes to solve a single topic, a thread of messages start between the OP and some specific user, and in the end, some OP`s can give 5 to 10 (yes, 10) marked as solved answers for this specific user for just one topic/problem.

I understand this situation as a problem for 2 reasons:

1-It can harm the Community Hygiene. If users start to crack the game and flood topics just to try to get more marked as solved answer point`s per topic, the topics will start to get messy and confusing.

2-This is unfair from the points perspective. Some users that are trying to give concise and correct answers are and will get far less points than the ones that are possibly cracking the game.

Felipe_Ribeir0_1-1673521629360.png

Real example of a topic with 10 marked as solved answers for just one user

Solution:  I undestand that if only 1 marked as solved point was accounted for each user that had the answer selected as a correct answer per topic, the incentive for this behaviour would decrease.

Lets hope that

Making new groups and working on some tools and learning about that tools and related information by making this will help new joiners and students to improve their skills and knowledge in alteryx software development projects and making it possible to work with alteryx easy and flexible..

Let's make sure to join in the team group and learn more .... Thanks if you are agree with the topic like this or else just live it... 👍

Hi!
I noticed recently that the majority of open Community ideas were newly labelled 'Accepting Votes', for instance my idea:

TheOC_0-1662361065390.png

I have to guess that 'accepting votes' is based on the likes on the idea, however this is unclear, and there are numerous statuses that could use clarifying:

TheOC_1-1662361127094.png

For instance, is there a difference between 'Accepted', 'Ongoing' and 'Coming Soon'?

What I suggest is a quick stickied post at the top of the ideas, to explain the ideas section to a new user. What each of the labels are, how to submit an idea, and what to include, with a new idea post. This would display as:

(Positioning could be changed)

Kind Regards,
TheOC

Hi all

Just a quick suggestion from me regarding the Gallery on Community, it would be great if when adding a tool to the community, we can label them as 'Base A'. Of course, this relies on a level of trust from users to tag their workflows, however, for many users, it can be more reassuring, or useful from a learning perspective to be able to know which tools only contain Alteryx-based tools.

My idea is that this is just an additional label in the uploading of a tool/workflow process, as seen below (spoofed with inspect element):

I've noticed that a fair few community members who have a standard sign off on most of there posts, usually consisting of contact and business details. It would be nice UX feature to be able to set a default sign off/signatures to replies and posts much the same as can be done with email.

I'm completing sections of the Alteryx Academy and see the 100% progress bar, but it would be great to have a link where we can see and download all our completed courses in a transcript form. We could provide it to our leadership as a way for them to measure growth in our skills, or bring it to interviews along with our resumes, etc.

As of right now, at the end of every interactive lesson and learning path, we have a quiz that is not more than 5 questions. To further solidify the learning, I think it would be a great value add if we can add a challenge (just like the weekly challenges) at the end of every 3 or 4 interactive lessons or learning path. The idea is to solve the challenge using everything we learnt from those lessons.

Hi,

When trying to help someone on the Community, answer may differ depending on installed version.

It could be useful to know display -if agreed- the product(s) and version(s) owned by someone to make interactions more efficient. Example: files for Python tool would not be placed in the same folders depending on the version.

Pros:

- Helps with providing answers adapted to user's context

Cons:

- If user upgrades her/his version then post will lose its context

Thanks,

PaulN

First off, want to thank Alteryx for the nice AfG gesture. I believe there would be a LOT of people that want to take advantage of it globally. To that end, it would be great to have a Introduce yourselves section/thread where people can go and say hello. I have engaged in some online learning (both MOOC and otherwise) and any class where people get to know each other automatically becomes more engaging. You already have a lot of social elements built-in (photo, cool "rank" names and such) but no social kick-off. This thread could potentially be it!

obvious extensions would be;

  • ideas.alteryx.com
  • usergroups.alteryx.com
  • usecases.alteryx.com

and of course

  • support.alteryx.com 🙂

thanks

Can we have a quote reply button for posts? This is a feature request for the entire Alteryx Community platform.

Why?

When replying to an existing post in the middle of a conversation, the reply still goes to the end of the topic.

Can we have the reply include a link to the initial post so that the context of the reply is not lost? Not all replies relate to the parent post of the topic but can relate to a later comment in the middle of the topic.

I find it especially relevant to weekly challenges discussions when talking about other people's solutions. As a standalone post, it does not make sense when it has no relation to the parent solution. E.g.

Either a quote reply button or threaded conversation feature will improve the flow of conversation in the community.

Is it possible for the video training index and weekly challenge index to be embedded as an interactive table that can be sorted and filtered to each community user's individual preference especially for videos. The alphabetical sorting of the videos is not user-friendly when you just want to see the Spatial analytics videos sorted by date order or Alteryx version. Some training sessions were repeated and I want to easily pick the latest training for the particular topic (e.g. Parsing Dates and Times). I may want to group the videos by a particular topic or difficulty level especially when preparing for certification exams. Alphabetical order is not the best order for someone using it to preparing for exams.

We have a lot of weekly challenges and being able to search, sort and filter will make it more user-friendly when using for exam preparation. I would like to be able to group the challenges by topic and sort by level of difficulty so that I can easily work my way in progressive level of difficulty from top to bottom within a particular topic. Outside exam preparation, chronological order from newest to oldest works better as we now have a large number of weekly challenges accumulated and not having to scroll down to get to the latest challenge would be most welcome.

We currently have ideas boards for Designer; promote; Connect and server; along with this Community ideas board.

Could we please add an ideas board for the SDK; which would be the place to log ideas for:

- SDK for formulae (I'm looking at you @jdunkerley79 )

- SDK for using the API in various APIs across the product stack

- SDK for building custom plugins (HTML; C++; Python)

That would also align well with the fact that there's already a discussion board for the SDK

It would be a large convenience for Alteryx to offer one sign-in with Microsoft Azure? (i.e. if someone is logged into the EY network and navigated to Alteryx.com they would automatically be signed in). This would be particularly useful for strategic partners of Alteryx as they could better track who is certified and who has taken which Alteryx Academy trainings as all users would map to the work email.

This mainly comes as an idea due to the Weekly Challenge threads which get an overwhelming number of replies compared to other threads.

TWIMC,

Our team loves the weekly exercises and value the lessons learned-- or should I say earned--  from them each week. However, finding them is a little, well, weird especially when I am trying to explain how to find them to colleagues: "Well, so, you go to search, type weekly and then select results from the last week and then each of the previous weeks exercises will be held in that most recent workbook. Smiley Frustrated" What I would love to see is these in their own space within the community so one would not have to search for them each week. Bonus points if we were able to DL all workbooks as a single zip that we could have for new-hire training material!

Cheers,

John

It would be great if there were a way to see the all the product ideas I've starred. Right now, if I want to review those ideas I'm going to need to scroll through all of them looking for gold stars. Perhaps some kind of activity log in the user profile could provide us with this information?

It may be nice to be able have quicker access to social media for shareing questions, solutions, challenges...

On facebook, twitter with shortcut links to community, instagram with workflow and tool pictures etc...
