Newsfeed

there should be an option to display a newsfeed that can be customized by the user. Notifications could be color-coded to correspond with its "parent" category (e.g., Discussions, Knowledge, Ideas, Blogs, etc.). The feed should be as flexible/customizable as possible (e.g., mute discussion, reply flag, pinning, etc.). It'd also be great if users had the ability to drag-n-drop items they want added to their feed.

Thanks for the great idea @GarthM! Do you have examples from other sites for what you have in mind with these different features? Can you also explain what you envision for the reply flag, and where would you drag and drop items from? We would love to hear from the rest of the community as well if they have other preferences on a newsfeed format.

The most well-known example would be Facebook's newsfeed (i.e., the grey bar on the right of the page).

With our new community layout and updated subscription notifications, I'll be moving this to not planned, as much of this functionality is available.
