Auto Insights Up Loader Tool

Question

I have a number of data sets which I have been manually loading onto Auto Insights, I'm now trying to change that process and take advantage of the uploader tool and the new container tools.

When running a single data set upload, I'm finding that the auto insights uploader tool is converting previous field identified as measures into segments and also dates into segments.

Why is this happening and what is the best way to stop it?

Hi Iain, 
The Uploader tool uses the Type of each field in the Designer workflow to determine whether it should be configured as Measure, Segment or Date within Auto Insights, as follows:

* Date or DateTime in Designer = Date in AAI
* Byte, Int, Decimal, Double or Float in Designer = Measure in AAI
* All String types in Designer = Segment in AAI

These field types can be reconfigured within Auto Insights Admin Portal, as you know, but will be reset by the Uploader tool on next workflow run. The best way to manage this is to use a Select tool in your workflow to configure the Types of each field as required.
