September was likely a very busy month for many of you, and you may be juggling kids at home, work, school, and a whole slew of other responsibilities as the seasons begin to change.  So here are some of the highlights from the community!

In Case You Missed It

*Community news & announcements.

Community Turns 5!

There's a good chance that you saw this last month, but in case you didn't, take a few minutes to read our 5th anniversary blog written by @JeffS.  There are some great stats, and a really fun video featuring the community team and many others! Though it's no longer our birthday month, it's still worth a reminder that we're all part of an incredible community here and it's all of you that make it so great.

ADAPT

We had the pleasure of releasing an awesome video with the help of some of our ADAPT participants that were kind enough to submit videos to us last month.  You can check it out here. We've now had over 10,000 people participate in the ADAPT program, and I don't see that slowing down any time soon! Congratulations to everyone that's found the program and grown their skills;  I would be remiss if I didn't personally thank @liendang, @rogshih, @StellaBon, and @VVill_T for taking the time to record their experiences!

Training

If you missed our training session with @seven at the end of August, there's no better time than now to spend some time going over it!  Kacper presented a wonderful session that is bound to be helpful if you're just starting out using Alteryx, or if you're in need of a refresher on some info! Nuts & Bolts

*Alteryx in Practice. Noteworthy Tips & Tricks, blog/KB Articles + other pearls of wisdom.

The Alteryx Intelligence Suite just gets smarter all the time. With the 2020.3 release, we added a new one-click Automatic Mode to the Assisted Modeling Tool.  @sadovsky told us all about it, and @joshualherr put Assisted Modeling to the test in Kaggle’s Titanic competition.

@VojtechT shared insights into strategizing about your organization’s data management and documentation, plus we’ve got a new Knowledge Base article by @KaterinaR to catch you up on new features in version 20.3 of Connect.

And, of course, it’s back-to-school season. We’ve been thinking about the hardworking students and teachers out there.

Finally, for those no longer in school but always learning, get ready to grow with the strategies in Learning and Staying Fresh on Alteryx by ACE @AbhilashR, and get inspired by ADAPT graduate @htrivedi123 in Overcoming Constraints through ADAPT: Meet Hardik Trivedi.

Q3 ACE Panel

A few weeks ago, we had another fantastic ACE Panel featuring some of our Spatial Experts! We had some great discussions around starting new jobs, breaking into the spatial mindset, and much more (plus some excellent audience questions during the live event). This was truly a fun event to put together, and if you missed the live webinar, you’re in luck, because the video is posted in the community! Take some time out of your day and view the video here. Special thanks to @Deanna, @Hollingsworth, and @samanthaj_hughes for sitting on the panel, and a big shout out to @andyuttley for taking on hosting duties!

It's been a fun few months for the User Groups Team! We welcomed back the New Zealand, Nashville, and Research Triangle Park User Groups! After a brief hiatus, these 3 groups are back with new leadership and eagerly waiting to set plans for the rest of 2020 and beyond! If you reside in any of these areas, please join the user group page to receive updates! If you are interested in contributing a presentation or lead one of these groups, post to the page!

New episodes | Alter Everything Podcast

Much of the world went through a heat wave during September — did it come from the podcast bringing the heat!? We think yes.

In episode 70: Mapping solutions: using Alteryx to serve community food banks, we sat down with @chriswilliams41, CTO at Precision Analytics Group, to learn more about the current state of food banks amidst the pandemic, how all volunteers collect and contribute to non-profit data collection, and how the Alteryx spatial tools can be an “ace in the hole” for food bank data analysis that delivers real impact to those in need.

In episode 71: Alteryx your curriculum, we hear from a father/son duo and teacher/student pair on how they worked Alteryx into their virtual learning, and why they believe data literacy with Alteryx will unlock opportunities for them. Spoiler alert: the two students passed at 13 years old and 16 years old!
