The Alteryx Excellence Awards recognize and celebrate outstanding Alteryx use cases and the people behind them. This year, we received many exceptional submissions, and we are thankful to everyone who dedicated their time to share their story.
This year’s impactful submissions set a high bar and made for tough competition. Our judging panel had the difficult task of selecting the best submission for each of the five categories. We are thrilled to announce that the winners of the 2021 Excellence Awards are:
- ACCELATOR- best scalability/integration
Andrew Bate, Head of Analytics, Brookson @AndyBate
Levering the power of Alteryx Intelligence Suite, Andrew Bate and his team at Brookson, a leading provider of accountancy in the UK, built an APA process to automate the extraction, validation, and the export of information from 10,000 remittance PDFs a week. This new process improved customer experience by increasing the speed and accuracy of payments, and it reduced operational costs by $140,000.
Sergio Avalos, Manager, PWC @Sergio_Avalos
Cutting edge technologies, such as tax engines, are critical for compliance and for a smooth business operation. Sergio Avalos and his team used Alteryx to build a tax engine and create 3,500 test scenarios to validate tax codes. The output automatically creates a PDF report and updates a heatmap dashboard highlighting all the countries based on performance. His solution is being used across the entire PwC network, and it reduced 99.92% of the time required for testing the setup of the tax engine.

Ramzey Zbeida, Lead Business & Data Analyst, Corsicana Mattress @rzbeidaCMC
From a family-owned business to one of the largest mattress manufacturers in the United States, and like many firms experiencing rapid growth, Corsicana Mattress wanted to improve efficiencies across the enterprise. So, Ramzey Zbeida and the logistics team created a spatial analysis to realign facility assignments and optimize shipments routes. They estimate an annual saving of $5 million and over 250 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually.

Charity Wilson, HR Analytics, Samsung @Charity_K_Wilson
When Covid-19 hit, Charity Wilson who is in HR Analytics was in charge of tracking their cases of Covid-19, and answering the million-dollar question: When are we going back to the office? She used Alteryx Designer to build a forecast model that helps their leaders understand where the trend is today, yesterday, and likely to be tomorrow. Her solution impacts the health and safety of their employees and allows leaders to make data driven decisions about their offices.
Rashad Asadov, MIS, PASHA Holding @Rashad
PASHA Holding, an Azerbaijani company, with diversified operations from banking, to technology, real estate and tourism, wanted to eliminate pain points and optimize both Management and Financial reporting processes. Rashad Asadov and his team used Alteryx to create a single Management Information System infrastructure with governance consolidation rules and data visualization capabilities. The impact of this solution saved the organization 1,200 working hours and $ 250,000 a year. On top of that, it improved data accuracy and quality leading to better decisions.
