DATA! With every passing day, the world is becoming more and more data-driven. How prepared are you for this change?

Alteryx, the leading platform for self-service data analytics, knows that ordinary people do extraordinary things, given the right tools and support. Information that expands our knowledge, helps our neighbors, solves our problems, and makes our world a better place. Alteryx for Good combines the power of the Alteryx Platform with the efforts of professors, students, and charitable organizations, to do great things in the world.

We are proud to launch Alteryx for Good in India.  For the first time, we can bring together non-government organizations, students and professors, and our passionate volunteers to discuss ways to solve for humanity through data. Together as a community, we want to empower data enthusiasts and enable social causes through the use of analytics.

Alteryx For Good supports non-profits and small foundations in the great work they do by providing them with analytic tools that help their organizations deliver better services, inform their stakeholders and funders, and advance their missions and projects.

We want to help train the next generation of data scientists, equip educators with top industry tools to prepare sought-after graduates, enable analytics between industry and academics and give students the opportunity to master different analytic applications.

We invite you to join us this Saturday to learn more about how Alteryx For Good and our volunteers can transform your challenges into solutions!

To top things off, two passionate Alteryx ACE's  Mark Frisch (@MarqueeCrew) and Sean Adams (@SeanAdams), will be joining us for the launch activities.  This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how Alteryx can benefit your organization or curriculum.

Just last week, Mark, Sean, myself and our volunteers spent some time helping a local NGO understand their challenges related to data. We discussed their current method in which their organization manages their data and introduced how Alteryx tools can help organize their data and the importance of presenting their findings through dashboards and storytelling.

And It's Official!

Alteryx For Good (AFG) is now officially launched in India.

Saturday, 17th March 2018 marks as the historical day as we had the launch event of Alteryx for Good in Bangalore, India. This event was open to charity organizations and university representatives from India. We had Sean Adams @SeanAdams and Mark Frisch @MarqueeCrew as our distinguished guests and speakers for the launch event.

The event started with a brief introduction to Alteryx, Alteryx For Good and the speakers. In this session myself @ydmuley walked the audience through the benefits of Alteryx tool to Charity organizations and Universities, benefits of Alteryx For Good program and how can organizations and universities start leveraging data for their benefit and create more impact. At the conclusion of this quick talk, I introduced the guest speakers Sean Adams @SeanAdams and Mark Frisch @MarqueeCrew to the audience.

The next session was led by Sean Adams @SeanAdams and was focused on importance and scope of Data Analytics in India. During this session, Sean spoke about various data points that charity organizations can leverage for their benefit. He also spoke about the importance of education in Business Intelligence and the role of Universities in upscaling the young generation of India. Sean also shared his perspective on how Data is changing the world and shared some examples along the way. Overall, this session was a great session to give the audience of how important data is for any organization and how can each of them leverage it to make more impact on this world.

The next session was a fireside chat with Mark Frisch @MarqueeCrew moderated by Sharon @scolaco. The questions and answers were focused to know more about Mark’s experience in working with other Alteryx For Good events across the world. The audience got a glimpse of his experience at AFG event -  Helping to Uncover Data-Driven Solutions to the Opioid Epidemic. He spoke about challenges encountered, the thought process to solve the problem and some analysis at about the data points generated through this. Mark also spoke about this first ever experience for AFG in the Sunday’s 11th March 2018 in India and the scope of impact that can be achieved through this project.  Mark also spoke about his passion for Alteryx and the vision that volunteers should keep in mind while participating in AFG events. One thing that stood out clearly from this session was Mark’s valuable thought – “Focus not on what you can achieve, rather focus on how much you can achieve.”

The session after this was by Nezrin @Nezrin where she spoke about the ‘Continued Support through AFG’. The objective of this session was to build confidence among participants about the fact that there will be a continued support by the volunteers of AFG and not just a onetime event. Considering this was the launch event and not many organizations have started leveraging data, this session gave the audience a ray of hope to look forward to the continued engagement with respect to AFG.

The second last session was conducted by Vivek @viveksahoo where he spoke on “Role of Universities in Adopting Alteryx and Benefits of AFG” during this he also shared his personal experience and challenges the current education system has when it comes to Business Intelligence. This session was assisted by Kriti @kritilakhani where she shared her experience as an intern using Alteryx and importance of Alteryx at Universities in India.

The event was concluded with a thanking note from Dhaval @dhavaldoshi and final closing thoughts by myself @ydmuley.

We then had a networking session with high tea.

The audience at the end was definitely excited about the launch of Alteryx for Good in India and is looking forward to continuing to work together to solve some of the data related challenges to create an impact on this world.

I and the entire team would like to thank all the participants for attending the event and special thanks to Sean Adams @SeanAdams, Mark Frisch @MarqueeCrew, Tori @ToriA, Quyen @QuyenT, Leah @LeahK and the entire Alteryx team for all the support throughout the planning even after a short notice about the event.

We look forward to many more events related to Alteryx For Good in India!
