I am having an issue configuring the smtp for the alteryx server.

Tried to do the below config.

Host: smtp.gmail.com

Port 587

I am having the below err

I'm pretty sure Google's security settings don't allow 3rd party apps (like Alteryx) to use the SMTP server. When trying to do this, you'll probably get a security alert from Google. At this stage I stopped, but I think there is a way to change the security settings in Google to allow this, but I haven't looked into how to do this.

If you do want to do this, try it with an email tool on Designer first to get it working before publishing to server.

It works in the designer, using the email tool. you just need to generate an app password in google. However in alteryx server smtp config, i am having an error.

Did you get this resolved? I would like to use gmail for the Smtp on my gallery too.
