Alteryx Server Upgrade Issue

Hello all,

When upgrading Alteryx Server from version 2025.1.1.31 to AlteryxServerInstallx64_2025.2.1.24 I'm getting an error msg.

Could somebody guide me if this is normal or have to perform any additional steps

Not sure if the above screen means stalled or its upgrading workflows in the background

your assistance is highly appreciated

Hi @jchawathe

I'd say that's not normal. Server version 2025.1 should be on MongoDB version 7 (assuming you're using an embedded MongoDB) which started in server version 2024.2

Hi @jchawathe ,

I suggest reaching out to Alteryx Support so they can troubleshoot what is really going on.

The Database migration checks the file ASMongoDBVersion.bin, which contains the version of your MongoDB. The default location for the file is: \ProgramData\Alteryx\Service\Persistence\MongoDB

There are cases where you can simply update this file to trigger the database migration, but I wouldn`t advise you to perform this change if you don`t have enough Alteryx Server knowledge to troubleshoot additional steps.

Many Thanks @fmvizcaino all the previous versions were upgraded automatically without user intervention, yes probably i'll have to get alteryx support team..

hello @davidskaife,

yes its an embedded version of MongoDB, all previous editions were upgraded without any fuzz

I reverted to previous version and its on ver. 7.0.9

C:\Program Files\Alteryx\bin>mongod --version
db version v7.0.9

I'd take @fmvizcaino advice and contact Alteryx Support in that case!

@jchawathe , keep that file (ASMongoDBVersion.bin) in mind when you talk to Alteryx Support.

Just out of curiosity, have you checked the file I mentioned? \ProgramData\Alteryx\Service\Persistence\MongoDB\ASMongoDBVersion.bin
