topic Using 1 mapping file with multiple tabs vs multiple mapping files? in Alteryx Server Discussions

Curious how others may do this with workflows in Server. I have a process that looks at journal lines and I have multiple maps (account, cost center, supplier, project, etc). Right now I have a gsheet with multiple tabs, one for each flavor of mapping (each map has a different structure). The issue is that even with control containers, and throttles, I get errors when trying to run since it sometimes trips over itself. I assume I'm not the only one who references a map in a network drive, so how do y'all do it?

Hi @RoliveIndeed ,

Are you using the google drive connector or the input data tool? The control container works pretty well for me with the input tool.

Best,

Fernando

Yes, I am, and have tried the control containers. I've had some luck with them in the past, but these maps are smaller in nature so I think it just processes them too quickly. My workaround was to merge them all into 1 map with a new first column for the map type, then fed them all in at once and used multiple filters to parse them out.
