topic Alteryx Server CPU Cores in Alteryx Server Discussions

Hello - I currently have a license for 8 physical core server. This server is EOL and being retired and I will be getting a 16 physical core server. Is it fine if I use the 8 core server license on this new machine which has 16 cores. My assumption is that Alteryx will still consume 8 cores and other processes will be utilizing the remaining.

Hi @vinodhkrishnan ,

As far as I remember, you can`t. Alteryx will identify your server has more cores than your license agreement, throw an out-of-compliance error message, and not allow your license to be activated.

https://help.alteryx.com/current/en/license-and-activate/administer/troubleshoot-licensing-issues.html#idm45002129506288

Best,

Fernando Vizcaino
