2021.4.2 -- Upgrade -- Date Interface tool

A few colleagues have said that the Date Interface tool in 2021.4.2 is now mandatory and can no longer be left blank if it is included in the workflow. 

• The entered date () is invalid (Tool Id:xxx)

Is there are workaround for this? Seems that a number of workflows had it built in that the field could be left blank and now errors are popping up.

I am noticing the same thing. I get the same error even when the Date Interface tool is an optional closed container that uses the Radio button. 

For example, several application give the user the option to select dates using the Date Interface tool or select from a Year/Quarter/Month tree. All applications leveraging these features give the same error.
