connect to Tableau online

Hi,

We are just migrating from on premises to Tableau Online and are unable to connect Alteryx to the online instance.  We have downloaded 2021.4 of Alteryx designer and have generated a Tableau PAT token but seem to be getting an error when try: connection to the platform was not successful.

I'm just wondering if anybody else has issues connecting Alteryx to Tableau online now that MFA has been enabled on Tableau online?

Hi @craigja ,

if you are using Tableau Output tool and utilise PAT, the MFA should not be an issue.

The usual suspect for "connection to the platform was not successful" is a proxy server in your environment, which probably wasn't an issue before, because you were using local (on-prem) server and thus the proxy server was not in the path. But now it is and probably is using its own certificates.

Try to follow this article to add your proxy certificates into the tool's cert store.
