Write Data In-DB to Databricks

Hi,

I am trying to write data to a table in databricks (database.tablename), and creating a new table is not a problem. Next, I want to append new rows to my table with the tool; Write Data In-DB. However, the tool is not giving me the configuration options that are documented in the Alteryx Help section. Is the configuration options depending on the actual connection type, or is there a bug with my tool? I am running the latest version of Designer 2021.3.

Hope anyone can point me in the right direction.

Hi @pinecone

According to the documentation the options depend on the connection type. Delete/Append operations are only supported on SQL server ODBC connections

While DataBricks might be using SQL Server behind the scenes, you're not connecting directing to the database through ODBC, so the Update/Delete options aren't available.

I can see this is an old thread, but has anyone had success appending to a table in Databricks with Unity catalog since then? @alexnajm, any experience with this?

Please disregard. I solved this by writing to a temporary table and using the temporary table to Write Data In-DB with an Append statement. Success!
