dynamic input tool not working-security patch error

Hi most members of my team cannot run a dynamic input tool that reads in .xlsx files

We get the following error

Error: Dynamic Input (4): The 2017-10-10 Windows security patch prevents the Jet driver from reading .xls files; install the 2010 32-bit Access driver

Not all of us do however, some can run it fine. There is no apparent reason why some can and some cannot.

ive scoured the community and not found a consistent answer.

is this an IT issue that our IT department can deal with, and if so, what do we tell them?

i got IT to instlal 32 bit Access Database Engine and it now works

ive no idea what this means, but i asked and they did it, and it works which is all i care about
