SharePoint Files Input and Output tools

I have recently noticed that SharePoint Files Input/Output tools have been added to the available connectors. However after connecting to my company SharePoint site when trying to configure the tool the Configuration pane whites out only moments after clicking on the connector not leaving me any chance actually to actually connect to any files. I have tried running the connector on 2021.3 and 2021.2.2 both without any luck. Anybody else have experienced this or has an idea of what to do?

we believe we have found the reason and fixed the issue. However it's hard to replicate the environment to be sure.

Would you mind trying a beta of the new version to see if the solution helped?

I am having the exact same problem, i tried both type of authentication and got the same result of white page.

To add to this if I am fast enough I can click options tab and it stays there but as soon as i click back it goes white. Would love to know if anyone has found a fix for this/ has got this tool working on there machine alteryx sharepoint problem.gif

Could you just confirm for me whether this behaviour happened immediately once you logged into the tool, or did you re-open a workflow from e.g. previous day?

We were facing similar behaviour which was caused by expired authentication token. So I'm wondering if this might be the same cause or a different one.

This happens immediately once i log in to the tool - thus I have never had the chance to use it in a workflow.

Further I noticed that on the newly released 2021.3.2 the connector no longer let me log in what so ever as the pop up just goes white after credentials have been entered 😕

Hope you might have a solution for this, any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

I have tried the v.1.1.0 beta and managed to connect to files on my company SharePoint without any problems in 2021.2.2 😄

However I am still not able to log in in 2021.3.2 as the pop-up just goes white after logging in – guess I will just use the 2021.2.2 for now.

Hi @johanoelgaard , unfortunately there's known issues in 21.3.2 which causes similar behaviour with all of our connectors. 21.3.1 should work correctly, though.

We are already working on a fix of the issue, so

I have installed 2021.3.2 non admin version and in that also i am facing the same issue after entering the credentials in Sharepoint File Input tool which I installed from gallery using yxi file.Is there any way to fix this issue? I also tried to register in beta program but it was saying your version should be 21.2 or 21.3.1.Please confirm if i can use yxi file which is attached under beta program page for 2021.3.2

Hi @Ashuu11 , unfortunately right now there is no workaround for the Sharepoint 365 connector in Designer 21.3.2. The only option is to use 21.3.1.

I haven't really pressure tested it, but with Designer version 2021.3.1.47945 AND the beta version of the SharePoint files tool you mentioned (1.1.0-871294), I was able to configure the tool with my credentials, the SharePoint site, folder, and file name. Small workflow ran successfully.

Is there an ETA on when this will be rolled out?

the issue has been fixed. Please upgrade to Designer 21.3.3 and install latest Sharepoint Files 1.1.0 tools.

I have had this credential white out issue with both 2020.4.5 and 2021.1.6 (I can't go above 2021.1.6 because that is the version our corporate server is on). Is this something that can only be fixed by upgrading to 2021.3?

Hi @TKSnider , the connector is not backwards compatible. So if you need to use any Designer between (including) 20.4-21.3.1, use Sharepoint Files 1.0.4. But if you need to run it in Server, you need at least Designer 21.2.2.

Also, there are some known issues with Sharepoint Files 1.0.4, which are being fixed in new version, so if you face them, you will have to upgrade your Designer (and Server) to use the recent Sharepoint Files connector.

Ok, we jumped out and upgraded one license we had to 2021.3.3 and version 1.1.0 for the sharepoint tools. We have tried both the browser and authentication methods and both fail when it tries to go to our organizational login page. all we get is a blank screen. This license is running on WinSvr 2016, but is a desktop license (we run it there to have more resources available than we'd have on a local laptop). I even tried to install edge on the server in case that was the issue, but it did not help.

I was able to get this to work on the broswer side on my 2020.4 version using 1.0.4, however the authentication method just outright fails with an AD error (even when I'd logged in using the browser previously).

The error I get on the 1.0.4 is:

AADSTS90036: An unexpected, non-retryable error stemming from the directory service has occurred.

I wanted to piggy back off this question, not sure if I need to make a new thread. But I was curious on how to make a Sharepoint connection like in Johannoelgaard's picture. What I get is this after I select the input tool:

I'm not sure if this is a sharepoint connection for me to get files or if this to get a sharepoint list. And I'm not sure where to get my sharepoint credentials either. Could someone help me out?

@TKSnider , could you please raise a customer support issue for it? what you describe is a known defect for 21.3.2, but should not be happening for 21.3.3.

you probably have an older version of Designer which does not include Sharepoint Files.

Please download the connector directly from Gallery and install it simply by opening it in Designer as a regular workflow. That should give you Sharepoint Files Input and Output tools onto Connectors canvas, or use search to find them and drag'n'drop it to canvas.

Any updates on the status of the SharePoint File Input tool? Is the Beta Program soon to be rolled into an Alpha / main Production version of the tool?

Trying to avoid a situation where everyone on my team must download the Beta and which I assume would not work on the Gallery for automation?
