Reading from a different folder

Question

Hi Alteryx Junkies

I have a list of excel files that I am reading from a folder h:/pooja using Directory tool.

I want to read these files from a different generalized folder h:/business without copying the files to this new folder.

I think there could be a possibility of  creating a batch file in h:/business and read from that file. but I am not sure how.

Can someone please help in this case.

You can use test text box and the action tool to update the input directory :

and then you run the application with the new path:

Can you elaborate on why you need to read from the other folder? Additionally, are there any restrictions on copying files there? It would be helpful to understand why you need to do this so that we can better guide you.
