Interface tools to allow user to select month/year or quarter data summaries

Hi, does anyone know of any sample workflows (preferably for beginners) or guides that would assist me in creating a user interface to allow selection of either monthly or quarterly data lists and summary.

Based upon an in touch date, I need to be able to advise on either a monthly or quarterly basis, whether an 'in touch' took place, and if it did so what the young person's main activity was and accommodation status.   I also need to be able to provide numbers of in touch, activity, accommodation per month, quarter.

I have already established the in touch, month, quarter, year, month/year, most recent in month and most recent in quarter but I think I might be going in the wrong direction?

I have attached a sample dataset  and any advice would be much appreciated.
