SAML 2.0 support in the Gallery is something we're looking at so I appreciate this post @joeGade! It will be great to see any votes from others who would like to see this feature and we will be sure to keep this post updated as we have more info to share. Thanks again!

Very high need from us. Lack of SAML 2.0/SSO limits our deployment options

This would definably enhance our usability of Gallery. Who wants to remember yet another password in a multi domain environment .. when SAML is one of the available options

If this is implemented please include the ability to change/modify authentication without having to do a complete reinstall of Alteryx Server. This is very limiting if you need or want to change authentication methods.

Thanks I signed up for Beta and installed, but the Problem is there is not much documentation as well as the Configuration doesn't seem to be had right options.

Current Alteryx SAML Configuration Window, How Do we configure IDP Metadata File ? does it have to be local Path(c:/pathto/idpmetadata.xml) to XML file or have to be on webserver(https://someserver/idpmetadata.xml)?

Also, How are Users Configured if we have SAML, does need to b Local user? what would be the User ID for SAML_SUBJECT / name ? how does it correspond to user Configuration on the server?

Please Implement the Simple SAML Configuration Options, the current options are confusing.

Allow us to Map Attributes,

Provider
Service Provider Settings (SAML Configurations)
Attribute Mappings (userName, employee Id, Email, first name last name etc)
Role Mappings (Map to alteryx Roles )

@chriscernosek while I'm not able to share the exact release date SAML will be included in the next release for Server and it is coming up very soon. As soon as we hit our release date I'll be sure to update this post!

Hi Everyone, I'm happy to say with the 2018.2 release for Alteryx Server we now offer SAML as an available authentication type in the Gallery. Be sure to stay tuned for an upcoming blog post with some highlights coming soon.

Hi Julie, Thanks for Picking my Idea and providing the SAML Support for Alteryx, We have Alteryx Server since last 2 years, is there a way that we can Migrate users from AD Authentication to SAML when we do the upgrade from 2018.1 to 2018.2?

Also is there a Good Documentation for Configuring SAML with Ping?

We have a newly published Knowledge Base article that documents the steps for configuring Ping with SAML which can be found: https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Server-Knowledge-Base/Configuring-SAML-on-Alteryx-Server-for-PingOne/ta-p/175174 In regards to the migration of users from AD authentication to SAML - there is some work required on our end to support this to make sure the proper permissions are honored and to ensure a seamless migration. We are hoping to do this in a future release but at the moment migration is not supported from AD authentication. Thank you again for all of your continued feedback!
