To allow users to pull data from Power BI, eg. datasets and usage data, to allow it to be manipulated in Alteryx.

Unfortunately not, unless the most recent update has changed its functionality, the tool can only output to Power BI. I want to use the PBI API to pull data from Power BI to get the usage statistics/audit logs for a given report.
It would also be useful to be able to grab a dataset from Power BI, amend/append it and then push it back onto Power BI too.

Apologies, I did not know that "working with an existing dataset" is like saying that the Output Data tool can "work with an existing excel file." As soon as this idea meets the necessary criteria, product management will review it.
We are also very interested in a PowerBI Input tool as well for this same use case. This functionality would be extremely valuable as PowerBI Usage Metrics only offer a snapshot of usage for the past 90 days. There is no way to gather cumulative Power BI Usage data automatically.

Visualizations already contain data that are calculated. Most of the time the requests I get are I need the results from this Power BI integrated into another report. If the other process is already built in Alteryx the ability to pull the existing data from Power BI and pulling it into the existing workflow would be an immense time saver. Only option at this point is to manually export data from Power BI which is time consuming especially if the dataset contains more rows of data than Power BI allows you to export at a time.
I will like this tool to read info from PowerBI. Some reports contains data extructures inside the flows.
It would be very helpful if we can have an Input tool to get data into alteryx from power bi dataset.
In our Power BI architecture, we have separated enterprise datasets with embedded business logic that act as a common source for our Power BI reports and dashboards. To enable a high degree of self-service and to be able to offer a complete data insight platform, it would be of great business value to use PowerBI datasets as an Alteryx source. We also expect that the number of users will increase if we can offer this option.
Please put this at the TOP of the list if it is not already. The Community shouldnt be the ones to say this is important. Hopefully Alteryx can already see that this is a critical need.

It's a shame I am having to resort to querying in Excel. Please can this be implemented as soon as possible.

Cant believe they did not think about that. This is particularly important when we are using linked entities from the dataflows that we do not own. Connecting to these dataflows would make life so much easier since Alteryx is better on merging data of the dataflow with other data sources. I am struggling to merge so many data sources with Power Query.
I have any existing process where I need to download a Power BI report on the 2nd day of each month regardless of whether it is a working day or not. It would be great if I can automate this process using Alteryx so I don't have to take my laptop with me when I am on holiday!

Helps me tap into our main data warehouse without needing IT support (and maintenance).
Helps Alteryx be more relevant to 10x as many users in the company.

In our business Power BI can pull in data from multiple sources and we spend so much time building tables, custom columns, etc our big issue is pulling the data back out for other reporting/calculating purposes. We don't necessarily need Alteryx to re-ingest the raw data. Power BI has done that. We need to look at the data in another format where Alteryx will shine.
I would like to use a dataflow which is built to be used in Power bi, as input for my Alteryx input. Is there a solution?
This tool would most definitely bring value to me and my colleagues.
1. It would shorten my data process by going directly to a source via Alteryx. Currently, I have to leverage Power Automate to dump the file to a network share drive to then have Alteryx pull from that DataSource.
2. Being that the data within a PowerBI dataset has already been curated and vetted it would be much easier to acquire access to these dataset than the actual productions dataset.
3. Being able to leverage Alteryx allows us to utilize the Alteryx data tools to aggregate data than using extensive DAX formulas.
