Output Format - Tableau or Excel Spreadsheet

Question

I am building a workflow where the result will be a generated output file for use with Tableau. Is it better to select an output file format of Tablueau (tde) or an Excel spreadsheet format? Or does it not matter much?

My output file with have less than 100,000 records if that factors into the decision. Thank you!

Hi @rchaidez - If your output will be used in Tableau only then the better option is hyper. You may read about tde vs hyper here: https://help.tableau.com/current/online/en-us/extracting_upgrade.htm

Its really up to personal preference on this one. I'd personally output to the .tde, since that one is designed to be used with Tableau.
