Excel 1997-2003 Input not loading all data

Question

I have a weird situation and was wondering if anyone else has experienced it and if they were able to solve it.

I'm inputting an Excel 1997-2003 file that has over 3,000 rows, but Alteryx is only importing the first 254 of them. If I save the file as XLSX or CSV, it loads properly.

I am using a skip rows and dynamic rename once the data is loaded, but there are only the first 254 rows as output from the Input Data task (I'm counting the records with a Count Records tool on entry to the skip rows).

Hi @fmvizcaino ,

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you - I got pulled in another direction.

There must be some kind of unprintable character in the file. If I delete the record after the last record that loaded successfully, the rest of the file loads fine. I've saved as a CSV and TXT and looked at in NotePad++ & Notepad, but don't see anything obvious.

Thanks for your offer of help, but I think this is just a one off issue. Just make sure you note the number of records when dealing with XLS files.
