Active Pivot in Alteryx Output

Question

Hi ,

We have this requirement as mentioned below :

Manual Process :

1. Extract the information in excel (xlsb) like 50 MB data. - Sheet1 . File Size : 50MB

2. Insert Pivot with ageing details based on due date - Sheet2 . File Size : 60 MB

3. Delete Sheet1 with 50 MB data . File Size is 10 MB since it is only pivot without data .

4. User will click on pivot if any line level data to be referred .

4. Upload into another system which has a limitation of not accepting files more than 15 MB .

Alteryx Process :

1. Extract the information in excel (xlsb) like 50 MB data. - Sheet1 . File Size : 50MB

2. Run workflow to Insert Pivot with ageing details based on due date - Sheet2 . File Size : 60 MB

3. Output contains sheet1 and sheet2 . But sheet2 is not active pivot . So sheet1 cannot be deleted .

4. System does not accept more than 15 MB files .

So is there a way to give active pivot in Alteryx solution  .

hey @praneshsapmm ,

there's no way to generate an active pivot table from within Alteryx - but what most people do is to have a hidden sheet with the raw data in their excel, and then use Alteryx to overwrite.
