File Browse XLS Input - Can't Create Data Source Object

I've successfully setup a workflow that runs with an .xls input (manually entered). I've tried to then set up as analytic app to browse for the file and keep getting the below error:

Does installing the ACCESS 2010 32 bit database engine resolve this too?

Are you able to upload a copy of the workflow/a sample? I believe it most likely has something to do with the way the action/interface tools are configured.

I am unable to now (this part of the workflow was done by another individual on a different machine so thinking I'm missing some driver/plugin/software).

Please note that I have the latest office. the .xls file is being exported from a legacy ERP system.

When i try to create the input module (just used a blank canvas):

and then select the xls document (by clicking the down arrow in "Connect a File or Database"), i get the following:
